Sergi Gómez
He began teaching himself to play the guitar at the age of 10. Later he trained at the Conservatorio de Música at the Liceu de Barcelona, at the Escuela de Música Moderna in Badalona, qualified as a music teacher from the Universidad de Barcelona and gained a degree from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Córdoba, specialising in flamenco guitar. His musical career has involved such extraordinary musicians as Juan Ramón Caro, J. A. Suarez Cano, Miguel ?ngel Cortés, Gerardo Nuñez, Juan Carlos Romero, Tino van der Sman, Manolo Franco and Niño de Pura and jazz talents such as Perico Sambeat, Avishai Cohen, Dave Liebman, Jorge Pardo and Carles Benavent. He won the first prize at the CAB (1999) competition for young musicians as a soloist and in 2000 with the jazz quartet Nadia Quartet.
He has been a member of musical lineups of various styles and accompanied various flamenco artists at festivals and theatres in Spain, France, Holland, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Morrocco, Russia, China and Cuba, among others. He is guitarrist and arranger for the pieces Para-Das, Visceras y otros cantes and Catadora de poetas, original creations by Charo Martín, as well as composer, musical director and guitarrist for the shows De Cadiz a la Habana, Ensayo and Donna, by La Bambina Compañía.
