Elena Córdoba
Dancer and choreographer who has worked in Madrid since 1990. Her work is based around detailed observation of the body, which provides its focus and subject matter. She has always combined her artistic work with teaching, concentrating on different ways of understanding and practising dance. In 2008 she began “Poetic Anatomy”, a creative cycle about the interior of the human body, which includes pieces and studies in different formats and which still continues.
She has worked as a choreographer with Antonio Fernández Lera, Rodrigo García, Carlos Marquerie, John Romao, Rocío Molina; as a dancer with Martine Harmell, Carlos Marquerie and Aitana Cordero. She has created visual work with Sylvia Calle, Chus Domínguez and Rodrigo García. She has published stories and work diaries.
She set up the research collectives “Bailar ¿es eso lo que queréis?” (“Dance, is that what you want to do?”) and “Déjame entrar" (“Let Me In”).
