Judith Mata
She has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Seville and qualified in Classical Ballet at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza in Seville. She trained in Contemporary Dance and Improvisation. Since 1999 she has worked as a performer and since 2004 turned to creation and the search for her own integrated universe, surrounding herself with kindred spirits and trying to make her processes, and the pieces that arise from them, go beyond the sum of their parts. More recently she has focussed on teaching, attempting to accompany younger human beings in the discovery of their bodies in the world, and from there researched further into the body and its relationships. She is currently studying for a Masters in “Active Education and Respectful Accompaniment of Infancy” at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid. She practices and teaches the first series of Ashtanga Yoga. She maintains an ongoing practice of Vipassana meditation.
