Camille Decourtye
She grew up in the world of horses while studying music at a conservertoire. She trained in
acrobatics at the National School of Circus Arts at Rosny-sous-Bois, ENACR, and the National Centre for Circus Arts at Châlons-en-Champagne, CNAC. At the same time, she worked on her voice. In 2004 she suggested including horses in the company’s projects, allowing her to develop freedom and communication in her work through the body, adding playfulness and emphasising the individuality of each horse. She has written and performed in all the work of Baró d’Evel. After the group’s experience with ¿Por qué no? and Bechtout, she directed the project Petit Cirque au marché, and, since 2006, has directed the company with Blaï Mateu Trias, creating the pieces Le Sort du dedans, Mazùt and Bestias.
